About the Event
We’re inviting you to The Harty Estate to see the venue styled for a wedding day, and to say hello to some of our trusted suppliers. After all, planning a wedding means choosing people as much as places, and meeting them in person is the easiest way to find out who you click with.

With the barns and Oak Gazebo styled for ceremonies and a wedding breakfast, there’s plenty of inspiration to take in, and our team to chat to while you’re here.

There’s no need to book. Come along any time between 11am and 3pm and pick up a brochure, or you can book a personal viewing

Set beside the Swale estuary, The Harty Estate is one of Kent's most special barn wedding venues - waterside, wildly beautiful and exclusive to the couples who celebrate here. Despite being just an hour from London, it feels a world away, surrounded by wetland nature reserves, open farmland and wide skies. This is a family-owned estate with over 25 years of hosting life's celebrations.

Those dreaming of a rustic, relaxed-elegant wedding will love the characterful barns and 16th century private pub, quality estate-born dining, accommodation for over 75 guests and a welcoming team that makes the planning journey a breeze.

The Barn restaurant serves only the best local ingredients; we are particularly passionate about our beef, lamb and game which is all from our own family farms in the surrounding area. At the Inn we have 4* bed and breakfast available, and we also offer 4* self-catering cottages which are great for accommodating all your wedding guests in supreme comfort.

We take pride in offering a personal, bespoke wedding service, allowing our couples to choose exactly how they want their special day to be. So whether you want a low-key celebration or something grander, our wedding co-ordinator can help you every step of the way to achieve your dream day.

Exclusive Wedding Venue

Three ceremony spaces each have their own character, welcoming 15-260 guests.

The Hop Barn is warm and rustic with its exposed brick, Kentish hops, fairy lights and French doors opening onto a waterside terrace.

For outdoor ceremonies between April and October, the Oak Gazebo overlooks the landscaped Rose Garden and the estuary.

Spring Barn is breathtaking, bright and airy, with its cathedral-like ceiling, vast estuary-facing windows, and beautiful oak frame, with no vertical columns to interrupt a single guest's view. As day turns to night, the large in-room bar, lounge and festoon-lit courtyard with a stunning brick fireplace come into their own.

There is also a 16th century private pub and beautiful waterside terraces and gardens, all making the most of stunning coastal views.

Two large and beautifully appointed getting-ready rooms give both sides of the wedding party a wonderful space to settle in, raise a glass and enjoy the build-up to their big day.

As the day draws to a close, the estate can sleep 75 guests in 11 individually-styled guest rooms and five self-catering cottages, extending the celebrations with a Kentish breakfast the next morning.

Tailored Packages

Tailored packages are available to suit all wedding styles, from intimate weddings and romantic Twilight ceremonies to all-out occasions for 350 guests. Two-day weddings, with a relaxed gathering the evening before and a relaxed breakfast the morning after, are among the most loved experiences the estate offers.

The team has also guided many cultural weddings and personal traditions to life, with an adaptable and respectful approach.

Wedding Dining

Quality menus are built around produce from the estate’s kitchen garden, beef from its family farm and ingredients sourced from the estate and wider Kent, all prepared by award-winning chefs. Couples choose from a three-course wedding breakfast with three options per course, relaxed sharing platters and exciting evening food options, alongside well-stocked bars with branded favourites, Kentish tipples and thoughtfully considered non-alcoholic options.

Wedding Planning

A warm, experienced team supports every couple through three personal planning meetings, a digital planning portal and a menu tasting evening for all full day weddings. On the day, a named Venue Host who knows the plans inside out ensures everything comes together exactly as imagined, warmly present without ever being intrusive.
