Set amidst beautiful Cheshire countryside Vale Royal Abbey is a breathtaking backdrop to any occasion, and one that is sure to impress. Dating back to the 13th Century, the Abbey was lovingly restored in 1998 under the guidance of English Heritage. Retaining all of its historic splendour, it now provides a unique venue and one that truly exudes grandeur befitting any special occasion.

Vale Royal Abbey dates back to the 13th century when it was founded by Prince Edward, the future King Edward I. In 1263 – Prince Edward, the future King Edward I, was undertaking a sea voyage from France when his ship was caught in a terrible storm. He made a vow that if he came safe to land he would found an Abbey of unprecedented size and grandeur as a thanksgiving to God for saving him.

The grounds of Vale Royal Abbey are simply stunning. The courtyard area provides a magnificent arrival setting and is a great place for your guests to gather. Reception drinks can be served outside on the well-manicured lawns, or in the library if the weather is inclement.
