Discovery Museum is housed in the old Co-operative Wholesale Society building, Blandford House. Opening in 1899, it quickly became an iconic building in Newcastle city centre. Blandford House became a museum in 1978 and was re-launched as Discovery Museum in 1993.

Set in the heart of Newcastle city centre, The Assembly Rooms is one of Newcastle’s oldest and grandest Georgian buildings, dating back to 1776. With stunning period features, the venue serves as an impressive setting for any business or social occasion. Offering guests tailor-made exclusive meetings and events packages, and with seven suites, including the famous Chandelier Suite, The Assembly Rooms provides flexibility unrivalled by other venues.

Choose from the traditional oak wood panelled Mozart Suite overlooking the stunning 19th century architecture of Newcastle Central train station, or the County Suite with its high vaulted ceiling and original stained glass windows. Visit our beautiful venues The Parlour at Blagdon and Shotton Grange, located in Northumberland just outside of Newcastle. Our venues are just a stones throw apart from each other allowing you to view them both in the same day. Our incredible team will be on hand to chat with you, answer any questions or simply run you through how our venues work. We have also invited our wonderful recommended suppliers who we work with frequently so that you can vision your dream day becoming a reality with us! No ticket is required, just simply turn up between 12:00pm and 3:00pm and one of our amazing team will be on hand to greet you with a complimentary glass of fizz and a brochure. You will also be able to sample some of our delicious canapés, street food and a mouth watering pizza our resident Pizza Van while walking round and envisioning how your perfect day will work with us here at The Parlour at Blagdon and Shotton Grange.
