About Wivenhoe House Hotel
Weddings at Wivenhoe House are everything you’d expect and more. Our stunning 18th Century, country house hotel makes the perfect backdrop for your wedding and is set in the most idyllic of locations.

With sweeping staircases, elegant rooms and surrounded by beautiful Essex parkland, our venue is nothing far from spectacular.

Licensed for civil ceremonies, we also have an outdoor Gazebo, overlooking our breath-taking grounds, so you can wed surrounded by nature and tranquillity.

Here at Wivenhoe we have put a twist on tradition and fused the main house with a Garden Wing, which sits alongside the meticulously renovated historic house and offers a more modern experience.

Our team of dedicated wedding coordinators and aspiring managers, will go above and beyond, and will take care of every detail to ensure you have the most perfect day. We also believe that your special day should not be shared, so we hold one wedding per day, promising you the undivided attention of our professional wedding team.

We got married at Wivenhoe House in December 2017. From the moment of booking, Katie was so helpful to us with all our questions and requests. The day ran so smoothly and we were very impressed with the hotel (having never visited it due to living abroad) and the staff members. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, the hotel grounds are lovely (great for photos) and our event room looked fantastic, having been decorated for Christmas with lots of fairy lights. The food was excellent (guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had eaten) and breakfast was delicious. I would definitely go back to stay when in the area and would highly recommend for a wonderful wedding experience.

Well where can I start ? You guys were all amazing and made our day the one we’d dreamed of. From the first meeting with you , we felt confident that you could provide the wedding we wanted. Every query and request we sent to you was answered quickly and efficiently. We would like to thank ALL of the staff from housekeeping, waiting staff, bar staff and kitchen staff who all contributed to our perfect day . Every member of staff who ourselves and our guests came into contact with , were polite and eager to engage in conversation , always asking if anything else was needed or if they could be of assistance . All of our guests have and are still commenting on how great you all were.

My husband and I got married here on the 30th June. We honestly couldn’t have picked a better venue. We first visited this venue on a wedding open evening that they had, and it was incredibly busy. Yet, there was a member of staff on hand that could help and attend any questions/queries that we had. I’d spent a year planning our wedding, mainly with Katie Ballard. Her help and knowledge of wedding planning really was second to none. I’d never planned a wedding before so all of her help and guidance was very much appreciated. I had many visits to WHH throughout the year and each member of staff honestly couldn’t do more for you. We did a menu tasting for our wedding day and was assisted by Ellie in the Brasserie. Her knowledge on all of the food options available was very impressive. The food was outstanding, we had 3 courses and 4 different dishes and each one was cooked and served to perfection. It’s safe to say that Our wedding day was more than I could ever had imagined. It truly was perfect in every way and ran incredibly smoothly. Our guests also found the staff to be incredibly helpful and attentive, as they were helped with luggage, and allowing a few guests into their rooms a little earlier. I honestly couldn’t recommend this venue enough. The house and grounds are breathtaking. And the staff are truly what make it the most wonderful, memorable experience
