About Spool Running Productions
Spool Running Productions is a multi-award-winning wedding videography business based in Yorkshire, filming weddings across the UK. Led by Billy, who holds an MA in Cinematography from MetFilm School, the team brings a strong technical and creative eye to every wedding, working discreetly to capture the moments that matter most - without ever getting in the way of the day.

Spool Running is known for its unobtrusive approach: fully trained, courteous operators who blend into the background, letting couples and guests enjoy the day naturally while every important moment is captured on camera. Coverage is offered across three full-day packages, from compact highlight films to fuller feature-length edits, so couples can choose how much of their story they want told. Every film is shot in 4K, with licensed drone footage included as standard.

What sets Spool Running apart is the personal touch - each film is bespoke, edited to reflect the couple's own personality and story, often set to music of their choosing. Past couples have described watching their films back years later and still being moved to tears, with many calling it one of the best decisions they made for their wedding.

Beyond weddings, Billy's wider filmmaking background - including work on BAFTA-nominated BBC productions and campaigns for brands such as Adidas and JD Sports - brings an added layer of craft and storytelling experience to every wedding film produced.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team to film our special day.

It was a small, intimate celebration in the countryside, and it was filmed with such care, warmth and attention to detail, far exceeding our expectations.

Everything was beautifully considered and artistically planned and filmed on what looked like very professional cameras positioned in exactly the right space. Billy managed to capture stunning lighting as we danced in the sun, aerial drone shots of all in attendance and close up action shots of intimate moments between family and friends.

He captured all the moments that mattered to us, balancing both the emotion and seriousness of the day with the fun and joy perfectly.

The films were edited incredibly quickly, and he created a one-minute, six-minute and ten-minute version for us — all bespoke — each of which is beautifully shot and edited seamlessly to music of our choosing.
