The Great Barn is a breathtaking 15th-century wedding venue, with soaring 45-foot ceilings, set within a private country estate just eight miles from Exeter on the edge of Dartmoor. Available exclusively to just one couple each week, The Great Barn specialises in luxury three-day wedding weekends, offering complete privacy and the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends from Friday to Sunday. Occasional midweek weddings are also available. The Barn accommodates up to 250 guests (plus a further 70 in the adjoining Round House) for standing receptions, with capacity for 168 guests at round tables or 198 at long banquet-style tables. Guests can also enjoy exclusive access to luxurious on-site accommodation for up to 30 people across a collection of beautifully restored stone cottages. Accommodation With over 140 bedrooms and luxury lodges on site, there will be a bedroom to suit everyone in your party. Our bedrooms have recently been refurbished and are all located in close proximity to the main wedding rooms, so your guests will not have far to go. All of our bedrooms include Wi-Fi, a hospitality tray and a full English breakfast in our Brasserie. Should guests wish to use the leisure and spa areas, this is complimentary for them too. For the wedding couple we also have two luxurious Bridal Suites available. Championship Golf We have 2 championship 18 hole golf courses, voted No1 Golf resort in the North of England that have hosted 13 PGA’s. As an in house guest here, you and your guests can benefit from 50% off tee times, pre booked in advance. If you haven’t played for a while, not to worry! We have a 9 bay driving range and a PGA professional on site to give state of the art tuition. Golf clubs can also be hired. Spa and leisure Our leisure area hosts a large swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for you and your wedding guests to enjoy if staying at the resort. We have 9 Spa treatment rooms too with ESPA products and a range of treatments from a full body massage to a manicure in our own nail bar area. If you feel like you may want to be more active, we have a state of the art equipped gym too. Whisky Snug Our Whisky Snug is a perfect area for you and your guests to relax in, at any time. If you wanted a private meal prior to your wedding day with close friends and family, we can arrange this too. The room has a working fireplace and a Whisky wall filled with over 100 rare brands. We can arrange Whisky tastings for your group too if booked in advance. Ornamental Gardens Our 2 acre ornamental gardens are situated just by our front lawn. It is the perfect place for you wedding photography or we can even host an intimate ceremony there for you and your guests, for up to 30 people. Tranquil, serene and calm where you can hear the streams run by, you’ll be fully relaxed here whether a guest or the bride and groom. Walking We have 5 designated walking paths around the 1000 acre estate with a large map that can be seen on the first tee, by the Hunting course. We have much wildlife around Slaley Hall including 12 pairs of deer, red squirrels and many rare birds. Additional to this to the left of the front lawn we have the ornamental gardens that covers 2 acres. Here you can see rare Japanese trees, a small pond and relaxing area for you to enjoy. Activities In partnership with All Out Adventures we have a range of activities onsite. We have our own dedicated 4x4 off road driving track, segway path and Quad biking trail alongside activities for the less adventurous too; clay pigeon shooting, archery, orienteering to name but a few. Prices start from as little as £25per person and can be booked with the All Out Adventures team. Perfect for your Hen or Stag parties.

A magical Grade I Listed moated country manor house in the heart of rural Herefordshire. Quintessentially English, the original 4 houses surround the charming central courtyard, one of the countless locations for an outdoor ceremony. Alternatively, couples can choose one of three formal lawns and any number of locations within 800 acres of wooded Estate to create a truly unique occasion. A Visit England 5-Star Gold exclusive use venue, guests have the run of the house during their stay. Mouth-watering catering can be arranged and for more informal self-catered dining, three well-equipped, homely kitchens are at guests’ disposal. Pre or après wedding days play host to board games and slideshows by warm fires in cosy lounges, perhaps with a sing-song on the piano to make delightful family memories. Wedding couples are spoilt for choice when it comes to romantic locations to choose from to marry; from the stylish Library, lined with floor to ceiling bookcases to the elegance of the Queen Anne Dining Room with views over the Wordsworth Lawn, where the romantic poet walked. And then there’s the grand Banqueting Hall; dating from 1180 with stained glass windows and a vast open fireplace filled fill candles - this room is the grandest in the manor and often where the happy couple will host their wedding meal.
