Afterwards, the ancient formal gardens are just a stroll away, across the medieval Courtyard. As The Old Barn is a flexible DIY wedding venue, couples have the freedom to put together the wedding day that’s just what they hoped for – you can even do the finishing touches yourself if you’re feeling creative. The beautiful conservatory, which for much of the year is covered in grape vines and wisteria, is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, and though there is room for 118 people, small weddings work well too. The Great Barn is a breathtakingly beautiful 15th Century barn venue (with its impressive 45 foot high ceilings) located about 8 miles outside of Exeter on the edge of Dartmoor. It is a beautiful, exclusive-use wedding venue, set in the grounds of a private estate, offering weekend weddings from Friday-Sunday, and occasional midweek weddings if desired. It has a capacity of 250 (plus 70 in the adjoining round house) when standing; a capacity of 168 sitting at round tables, and 198 at long tables. Also available on site is luxurious accommodation for up to 30 guests in a variety of stylishly renovated stone cottages.
