The Great Barn is a breathtaking 15th-century wedding venue, with soaring 45-foot ceilings, set within a private country estate just eight miles from Exeter on the edge of Dartmoor. Available exclusively to just one couple each week, The Great Barn specialises in luxury three-day wedding weekends, offering complete privacy and the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends from Friday to Sunday. Occasional midweek weddings are also available. The Barn accommodates up to 250 guests (plus a further 70 in the adjoining Round House) for standing receptions, with capacity for 168 guests at round tables or 198 at long banquet-style tables. Guests can also enjoy exclusive access to luxurious on-site accommodation for up to 30 people across a collection of beautifully restored stone cottages. Originally the Village School built in 1891, it has had an extensive upgrade recently exposing the original beamed roof. Ideal for the smaller wedding, there is enough room in the hall to seat 80 at tables. There is also a stage for groups, disco etc. Available with the booking, for an additional charge, is a marquee. With hire charges starting at £50 for a half day, and the marquee £50 per day, it is also great value!

Our 16th century Purbeck stone barn, which can seat up to 130 guests, is licenced for civil ceremonies and has a fully stocked bar attached. Choose your own format and menu - wherever possible we try to use locally sourced products and ingredients which are prepared by us and cooked fresh on the day.
